Giving God Glory
What's on the Harrisons' Hearts
The Lord continues to grow our family in heaven... - Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!...For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:33 We cannot understand the Lord's ways at times, but even when we cannot understand, He is and will always be worthy of all our praise and glory!
There are now at least 3 little Harrisons at home with the Lord. At 9 weeks in the pregnancy, our baby had no heartbeat... The Lord had prepared Wes and my hearts that He may call this baby home too, but the sting of the loss of a loved one, even though never met, still hurts. I think one of the most challenging aspects is to realize that our desire for more children is presently not God's will and to once again surrender that desire to Him. I keep reminding myself that knowing Christ more intimately (which often comes through trials) is a far greater gain than any desire I may have, no matter how good that desire may be (Philippians 3:8 - which is my favorite verse). Sometimes it is hard to accept and embrace God's will when it is different than ours, but Wes and I know and trust that His will is so much better than ours, even though we do not completely understand His will right now. We are thankful that in the midst of the sadness, the grieving, and the pain that the Lord has gently reminded us of His faithful and perfect character - loving, good, wise, sovereign, holy... - and that He has continued to comfort us with truth in His Word -
Psalm 71:6 & 104:29 - God's sovereignty over life and death.
2 Samuel 12:15-23 - David's example with the loss of a child that demonstrates the truth that our little one is at home with the Lord in heaven.
Psalm 34:18 & 73:28 - The blessing of the nearness of God as we are brokenhearted and the blessing of the opportunity to tell others about Him and His works as a result of trials.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 - God blessing those who trust in Him. Those who trust Him do not need to fear when trials come, but instead, they will continue to yield fruit for Him, which is our prayer.
Romans 8:28-29 - God is working through this trial for our good to make us more like Jesus Christ.
James 1:12 - God blessing those who persevere under trial.
James 1:4-5; Romans 5:3-5 - God is producing endurance, perfection, completeness, perseverance, proven character, and hope in us as a result of trials.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 - God's power is being perfected in our weakness, and His grace is sufficient for us.
A couple of praises we would like to share as a testimony of the Lord's goodness in the mist of trials:
*The Lord worked through Noah sharing a tract with a nurse (unprompted by us) that led to a conversation in which I was able to pray with her about the trials she was going through, and I saw some noticeable changes when I returned for more ultrasounds.
*The Lord gave me an opportunity to spur on a different nurse who is a professing believer and is married to an unbeliever.
*The Lord comforted me through Noah praying for me on the way home from the doctor's office after he noticed me crying. (Psalm 8:2)
On a lighter note, Wes and I have joked around about how we have been praying for God to grow our family and that we need to be more specific and pray for Him to grow our family here on earth. ;)
Praises & Prayers
Friend in CO Springs - Prayer for God's will to be done with possibly moving and finding jobs in another state.
Tami - Continued prayers for the Lord to give my dad and other loved ones His perspective and that God would heal Tami, but ultimately that His will would be done.
Our Family - Praise for God selling our home. Prayer for all the logistics working out according to the Lord's will with the home on Cool Spring Way that we are under contract on. Prayer for God's grace and strength as we travel to Lake Powell, Utah next month for a week of vacation on a houseboat.
Wes - Praise for the Lord helping him complete his class with excellence in TX.
Christina - Prayer for God to guide my body according to His will since my body has not started the miscarriage process yet. Also, pray for wisdom for us in deciding whether we should pursue having a D & C or wait for my body to kick in.
Noah - God would graciously save him at a young age and lead him to walk with the Lord all of his days, if that be the Lord's will. Praise for the Lord growing Noah in self-control and for giving Noah a great amount of patience with all of our house-hunting. Praise for his tender heart towards the Lord presently in praying for me on the way home after finding out our little one did not have a heart beat. Continued prayer for the Lord to grow Noah in self-control and for wisdom for Wes and me in training Noah how to have self-control with his emotions, particularly when he does not get what he wants (Galatians 5:22-23). Prayer also for a great amount of God's grace for Noah as we road-trip to Utah and are on a houseboat for a week (we are concerned about him sleeping on the boat since it won't be his bed that he is used to).
Family Fun
Celebrating Resurrection Sunday - Someone is missing in this photo! :(
We missed Wes A LOT this month!
Wes was in TX 3 weeks for a class for work.
House-hunting - What an adventure! Even more of an adventure with Wes in TX! Noah did fabulous throughout many, many showings with our realtor, Linda, and some in which Papa & Grandma Rush also joined us. Linda and Noah bonded over chocolate milk :) and Noah enjoyed exploring each home we entered. Wes and I enjoyed how the Lord guided us through each step of the process with "closing the door" on an offer we made on Cranswood and leading us to put an offer that was eventually accepted on Cool Spring Way - a home that Wes found and really liked, but he had only saw it online when we pursued purchasing it.
Our potential new home on Cool Spring Way
