Celebrating 2 Years of Life - February 2011

Giving God Glory
Creator & Sustainer of Life - For by Him all things were created...all things have been created through Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.  Colossians 1:16-17  We praise and thank the Lord for creating our precious son 2 years ago, for blessing us with the joy and privilege of discipling him, and for sustaining and protecting Noah's life the past 2 years.  Thank You, Lord, for our precious gift from You!

What's on the Harrisons' Hearts
Power of God & the Gospel - For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes...  Romans 1:16  The Lord blessed Wes with an opportunity to grow in sharing the gospel through the Superbowl Outreach in Dallas, TX.  The opportunity came our way only 1 1/2 weeks before the outreach through Wes joking around about going if there was an extra seat since the Packers were playing.  The Lord works through humorous ways at times, and He confirmed to us that Wes was to go.  Throughout the weekend, Wes was spurred on by various quality preaching and fellowship with like-minded brothers and sisters in the Lord.  He also had various outreach opportunities through 1-on-1 conversations, handing out tracts, and open-air reading Scripture.  The Lord grew Wes a lot as a result of the Superbowl Outreach.  One of the biggest impacts is a greater love and appreciation for the gospel and for what Christ has done for him as well as a greater passion to tell others the good news of Jesus Christ.  The Packers winning the Superbowl was definitely icing on the cake for this cheesehead and our fam. :)
It was a privilege for me to pray for Wes and the others on the outreach team, to see the Lord answer prayer, and to pass on updates to loved ones who were also praying.  I grew in passion for sharing the gospel too, and I was also convicted of how I need to grow in boldness with speaking the truth in love to people in my life who need to hear the gospel.  Wes and I do not want to be ashamed of the gospel or fear man more than God because God is powerful, and He longs to save those who are lost through people who faithfully share His truth.

Praises & Prayers
Friend in CO Springs - Prayer for God's will to be done with possibly moving and finding jobs in another state.
Tami - Continued prayers for the Lord to give my dad and other loved ones HIs perspective and that God would heal Tami, but ultimately that His will be done.
Kyle & Kristen - Praise for the Lord blessing them with another little one on the way.
Our Family - Continued prayer for God's will to be done with possibly selling our home since He knows what is best.  Continued prayer for God's perfect timing and ways of growing our family.
Wes - Praise for the Superbowl Outreach opportunity.  Prayer for the Lord to guide Wes in working out all that God worked in him throughout the Superbowl Outreach.
Christina - Praise for the opportunities to celebrate little ones by helping plan baby showers for family and friends.  Praise for the Lord guarding my heart and for helping me be content and grateful for our family of three - well, four counting Sierra. ;)
Noah - God would graciously save him at a young age and lead him to walk with the Lord all of his days if that be the Lord's will.  Praise for the Lord growing Noah in his communication and also in his obeying without delay.  Also, praise for the Lord growing him in his enjoyment of others and love for others.  Prayer for wisdom in training Noah how to honor God with his body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) as he is more aware of how God made him.

Marriage Memories
Homemade Movie Date Night - One of Wes' teammates in AWANAs invited us to preview the movie he created called Seized, so we made a date night out of it.  We enjoyed eating dinner at Culver's with Brett, Kate, & Maren, which was a fun surprise since we ran into them there. :)

Other Intriguing Info
*From party pooper to party animal - Noah's 1st and 2nd birthday parties were completely opposite!  His 1st birthday party was small (10 people) , and he had a couple serious meltdowns.  This year his birthday party was bigger (23 people), and he loved it!  Noah was quite the performer - dancing, laughing, jumping, and running all around.  It's wonderful to see how the Lord has grown him socially over the past year!  Unfortunately, he partied it up so much that he had a terrible time sleeping that night due to all the stimulation.  He "said" it was well worth it! ;)

*Social strides - A few other examples of the major strides Noah is making socially - Noah gets super excited when he sees family or friends.  Sometimes he will even open up his arms to give a friend a hug.  Also, we are now receiving nursery reports of him smiling, waving, and being more interactive with workers and other children. :)
*Responsibility training - We continue to look for ways to give Noah more responsibility.  This month we have been teaching him that he is responsible for feeding Sierra and for putting his dirty clothes in his laundry basket.  He's doing a great job at both of these!
*1st black eye - Noah got his 1st black eye from running off his "Noah chair" and landing on the edge of his trampoline.
"Don't Mess" - Noah looking tough & Showing off his shiner
