...What are we going to do about Halloween? To dress up Noah or not to dress him up? Are we going to pass out candy or turn off our light? These were some of the questions we tossed around this month. Wes grew up turning out the light, and Christina grew up dressing up. Neither of us were "sold" on either approach, and the key was determining what WE wanted to do with our family. After collecting ideas from family and friends, we decided to dress Noah up for fun (in a cute little pumpkin outfit that a friend, Libby, gave us) to see Grandpa & Grandma and Uncle Adam & Aunt Wendy and to take advantage of the opportunity to witness to the kids who came to our house by putting a short gospel message and verse with each candy: "Candy is a yummy gift, but do you know what is the greatest gift of all? GOD'S GIFT Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the free GIFT OF GOD is eternal life though Jesus Christ our Lord." We hope and pray that God used His truth to plant seeds in the hearts of the children and maybe parents' too - rather than only planting cavities in their mouths. :) We had a lot of fall fun this month taking Noah up in the mountains to play in the leaves and to see the changing colors of the Aspens and going on hikes and picnics. He loves the outdoors! We also discovered that he loves pulling up! Practically every waking minute he is pulling up on something, even if it means scaling walls and other flat surfaces. :) He sure does provide quite the entertainment! Christina also enjoyed helping plan and teaching at our small church's first Women's Retreat - "Hats Off To You." It was such a blessed time of fellowship, fun, laughter, and tears, and all the work of planning paid off!
