1st Camping & Traveling Adventures as a Fam of 4 - August 2012

Giving God Glory

God's healing work - O LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.  Psalm 30:2 - We praise the Lord for seeing His loving care in Paul's life.  Paul (our brother-in-law) has a rare condition at the base of his brain called Chiari Malformation Type 1, and he had surgery a few months ago.  It was encouraging to spend time with Paul while we were in Wisconsin and to physically see and continue to hear testimonies about how the Lord had provided healing in Paul's body.  The Lord worked through medicine (surgery) and doctors to accomplish this healing, and all the glory goes to the Lord.  Paul's neck has been altered as a result of this surgery, but his recovery has been amazing!  We thank the Lord for graciously answering prayers and for demonstrating His kindness in Paul's life since sometimes the Lord's plans involve health trials instead of healing.

What's on the Harrisons' Hearts
Savoring the sweetness of a simpler seasonEcclesiastes 3:1 - There is an appointed time for everything.  And there is a time for every event under heaven...  We thank the Lord for bringing us out of a very full season of responsibilities that we sensed Him calling us to (for various reasons) that happened to all occur during this past year.  Some of these responsibilities that have ceased include: initial phase of the adoption process involving training & a lot of paperwork, tutoring, childcare, and hosting & leading a weekly Bible study.  Also, Wes took a semester off of class, which has been a blessing for him to have a break.  We are still in a full season with our precious boys, ministry, participating in Bible study, and my teaching piano lessons, but our season is a lot more simple!  There is a sweet depth and richness of our personal relationships with the Lord and our relationships with family and friends that we are savoring and thanking the Lord for!

Praises & Prayers
Tami - Continued prayers for the Lord to give my dad and other loved ones His perspective and that God would heal Tami, but ultimately that His will would be done.
Our Family - Praise for the Lord blessing us with the sweetness of a simpler season.
Wes - Praise for the Lord helping Wes to finish strong in completing another semester of school.   Prayer for Ecclesiastes 2:24-26 for refreshment and enjoyment of this simpler season and break from school.
Christina - Praise for the Lord blessing me with the gift of sleep. :)  (Josiah is only getting up one time in the night.)  Prayer that the Lord would continue to grow my love for Christ and others and help me to have a servants heart (Philippians 2:5-7), especially for serving Wes, Noah, & Josiah.
Noah - God would graciously save him at a young age and lead him to walk with the Lord all of his days, if that be the Lord's will.  Praise for Noah growing in telling the truth the first time and not being wishy washy with his words.  Prayer for Galatians 5:22-23 that the Holy Spirit would working in Noah's heart and helping him to evidence the fruit of the Spirit - especially having self-control when he does not get what he wants.
Josiah - God would graciously save him at a young age and lead him to walk with the Lord all of his days, if that be the Lord's will.  Praise for Josiah traveling so well when we flew to Wisconsin and for his gas/pain/fussiness ending.  There are no specific prayer requests, which is a big praise!  Josiah is very easygoing and a sweet little boy.  Presently, our main prayer is for the Lord to draw Josiah to Himself in salvation (John 6:33).

Noah News

Age - 3 years old

Cute Communication -
*Noah likes finding letters & numbers out in the world.  When he sees a letter or number we are learning for the week, he gets very excited and exclaims, "Daddy/Mommy!  I learn (whatever the letter/number) this week!"

*One day when Josiah was laying in his Moses basket and started fussing, Noah started reading his Bible (all animated) to Josiah.  Josiah calmed down and started listening to his big brother.  Noah tells him, "Josiah, I like reading my Bible to God.  When you get older, you can read the Bible to God."  Precious!

*The day before we left Wisconsin to go home, we explained to Noah what we were going to be doing the next day.  When we were done, he then recalled everything play-by-play (and did this several times the next day since we encountered a delay, and I think he verbally replayed this sequence of events for reassurance that we would be going home).  Noah - "We will go to airport and fly on airplane... ride shuttle... go in Blue Lightning (name of our minivan)... get Sheeka (Sierra - our dog) from Uncle Adam & Auntie Wendy... go home.

*Noah is beginning to get the concept of age.
     N - "I am 3 years old.  When was I two?
     Me - Last year.
N - Oh...  I will be 4 on my next birthday.  My birthday is February 25th.  I get to go to school (specials - art, music, P.E., etc.) when I turn 5.  When will I be 8?
     Me - In 5 years.
     N - Oh...that's a long time...(sigh)...

     *Cute little phrases:
"Wowww..." - said solemnly and with a serious tone when he is impressed with something
"I'm EXCITED!" - everything excites Noah these days :)

Noah got a facial fungus (not contagious)
Our pediatrician told us to put Selsun Blue on it but it didn't do much (or we didn't do the treatment correctly)
It's just cosmetic & will go away.  This type of fungus can be prevented by sunscreen, which we'll make sure to use more next year.

*Video - Noah gettin' down dancing at the Fun Fest - 15 seconds
He was getting his groove on with the high school football team and cheerleaders - too cute!
I would have got more video, but I was out there dancing with him until I thought about recording and only caught the end of the song.  You can still get the picture. :)
