Celebrations & Challenges

Giving God Glory & What's on Our Hearts
Moving on from Our Church - Seeking God's will and His best for your family is not always easy...and in this case, though the Lord made the decision clear to us due to a variety of reasons that it was time for us to move on, implementing this decision was extremely challenging due to the impact on relationships with our dear brothers and sisters there.  The Lord has taught us a lot through this process, and hopefully we have become more like Christ in the midst of the tough growing opportunities we have experienced.  We are grateful that God has given us confidence that we are right in our hearts with Him in how we have sought to handle everything (which included repenting and apologizing at times since we know we are not perfect).  We hope that somehow the Lord has been glorified in the midst of this process!  We are thankful for how He has guided our steps and given us great peace and confirmation about our decision.

Hoping & Praying for a Miracle - We are hoping and praying for a miracle since Tami was diagnosed with Alzheimers. We have complete confidence that God can miraculously heal Tami, but we do not know if it is His will to miraculously heal her. Isaiah 55:8-9 - "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." Psalm 34:8 - O taste and see that the LORD is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!  We are thankful that Tami has been saved by Jesus Christ and has made the LORD her refuge. God is good, and He knows what is best for Tami. In our thoughts, a miracle would be best, but only the Lord knows what is truly best for her and for His glory. So…Lord, we are trusting in Your goodness, wisdom, and ways, even though circumstances in life may be difficult for us to understand and accept...

Prayers & Praises
Tami - Praise for God giving the doctors wisdom and discernment to determine the cause of her memory loss (even though we don't like the results). Prayer for God to heal Tami but ultimately that His will be done, for strength and peace for her and my dad, and for God's perspective for all loved ones involved.
Our Family - God would grow our family in His perfect timing. God would give us wisdom and discernment as He leads us to the church home He has for us.
Wes - Praise for continued conversations about God with co-workers.
Me - Praise for God healing and stabilizing my body after the miscarriage last month.

Noah - God would graciously save him. Prayer for wisdom, unity, love, and patience for Wes and me in shepherding Noah's heart since opportunities for discipline and correction are more frequent these days. Prayer that Noah would have a tender heart toward our training and would respond in honoring and obeying us (and ultimately the Lord someday).

Marriage Memories
"Spicy" Date Night - If it is true that "variety is the spice of life," then we had a spicy date night this month...dropping by a meal and staying to chat for a bit with our friends Chris & A-L who had a beautiful, healthy girl recently, running at Garden of the Gods, walking around and snacking for dinner at Territory Days in Old Colorado City, and finally stopping by Kohl's to buy some jewelry for a couple dollars due to a deal & coupon combo there.

Here's us 3...a happy family! :)

Mother's Day - Wes blessed me with some beautiful flowers and a pampering gift of a manicure/pedicure.  We celebrated most of our Mother's Day at church with Noah's Dedication and a BBQ potluck after the service.

Noah's Dedication - We are very thankful the Lord has blessed us with precious Noah!  We enjoyed reflecting on the privileges and responsibilities that come with raising a child in the ways of the Lord and His Word with Noah's dedication at church on Mother's Day.  It is a good reminder that ultimately Noah belongs to the Lord, and the Lord has given Noah to us as a gift and entrusted him to us for a season...

Dinner at the Firestation - Every now and then, Wes gets requests by co-workers for his enchiladas, and they let him know it was time again.  Noah and I like to join Daddy in the cooking (and eating) fun, so we made a visit to the firestation and had a good time enjoying enchiladas and Reeses peanut butter cups dessert with his co-workers.

Wes' Graduation...sort of - Wes graduated from the certificate program at Front Range Bible Institute here in CO Springs.  However, he is continuing classes for the Bachelors program there, so Wes says he didn't truly graduate.  I told him it was still a big accomplishment, regardless of what you call it. :)

Other Intriguing Info
*Shrieking - Noah figured out how to shriek...Wes and I are grateful this new endeavor did not last long.
*Yikes! - Lawn mowers scare Noah, but he does fine around them as long as he is being held.
*New sleeping positions - Noah used to always sleep on his tummy with his legs tucked under him like a turtle tucked up in his turtle shell.  Now, we'll find him passed out in all kinds of random positions.  Some of them can be pretty amusing.

Now...

...don't worry, we made sure he could still breathe...

...see, he's good - mouth clear of his bumper :)

Memorable Moment of the Month
Our Little Beaver – One morning I went in to get Noah up, and I noticed his teeth marks along the top rail of his crib. I immediately started foreseeing the future of him chewing through his rails, having health concerns for him, and having to purchase a new crib for future children… I got all kinds of great advice from my mommy friends and family and was all prepared to whip his new habit into shape. Fortunately, it must have been some “freak” beaver behavior because he has not chewed again in his crib AT ALL since then. We are hoping that he doesn’t revert back to being a beaver with each new tooth that comes in.
